How to make a living with spells and witchcraft

September 21st, 2011

It seems that the witchcraft business is booming. There are many herbalists in Pretoria and witches plying their trade in the streets of Johannesburg and Cape town – all out to make a living with spells and witchcraft. Witchdoctors in Cape Town offering love spells and psychic healers in Gauteng offering revenge spells – what a business. As there is no formal training to become a witch or witch doctor, or formal qualification, it seems that anyone who has access to a cell phone and the internet can become a witch and sell spells.

Sangoma training is completely different – you will need to be called by the ancestors, and you will go through a rigorous training with  qualified sangoma who knows what it is to be in service to his or her people. While sangoma rituals can be done by almost anyone – it needs a powerful sangoma to do it properly. The other option is just to call yourself a sangoma, or witchdoctor, learn a few spells and start making money – seems like nobody cares whether you are really and African witch or not. Spells and spell casting is the name of the game – and many people are looking for spells – love spells seem top of the list, with revenge spells and win a court case spells coming a close second.

Start a poultry business

Start a poultry business

While jobs are generally scarce in Gauteng, there are some businesses that are booming – the poultry sector is one of them – people need to eat and starting a chicken farming business may be the answer if you are passionate about farming chickens. There are many stories of people who looked for insurance jobs or IT jobs, got the post, and found out is was not for them. They ended up growing chickens for their eggs or chicken meat. Start up capital is a problem, and as the salaries in the IT sector and the Insurance sector are fairly high, this may be a good strategy – find a high paying job, save as much as you can and then start a poultry business.

Like all businesses, starting with a good plan is key. A poultry business plan is no different – whether you are a small chicken farmer or a commercial poultry farmer – a solid poultry business plan is critical.  Business plans are just your dream put into a formal way. When starting to write a business plan you should just list everything, no matter how unlikely or expensive – and then work backward from there. Look at your business plan like the blue print for your dream – how, where, why, how much, when – ask all these questions and answer them. The actual layout and format of the document can be tidied up later.

Jobs in South Africa

December 29th, 2010

Jobs in South Africa are not easy to get. Employment in South Africa is a difficult thing especially if you are poorly educated and cannot speak reasonably good English. If one splits up the race groups the figures are very skewed. Whites have the lowest unemployment – about 6%, whilst 40% of  black people find themselves without employment. Indians and colored hover around 20% without jobs in South Africa. If one looks at age, the biggest group looking for work are the 16 year olds - 24 year olds.

The figure drops as people get older. When looking at jobs for woman and jobs for men we see some more startling statistics with 40 % of woman not able to find jobs in South Africa and 26% of men looking for employment. Geographically we find that the rural population has a much bigger proportion seeking employment. These figures need to be looked at closely as the statisticians use many variable, and also, miss many factors in relation to jobs in South Africa. Things like discrimination based on race are still prevalent in South Africa.

Of course language plays a huge part in finding work in South Africa. The majority of people speak an African language as their first language and the business of the world is conducted in English. This weights the chances of employment against local people. Jobs in the spirit business are up with many people becoming sangomas or offering love spells to the public on the internet.
